SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A WSP patrol car was hit by a vehicle Tuesday night while blocking a crash site on Interstate 5 near southwest Arlington, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The collision occurred on the northbound lanes at Exit 206 to 172nd Street Northeast. It was first reported by Trooper Kelsey Harding at about 9:29 p.m.
Authorities said a trooper had responded to the scene of a prior wreck and was blocking the area with his vehicle’s emergency lights activated. At one point, a passing driver failed to move over, causing their vehicle to strike the patrol car.
Photos taken at the scene show significant damage to both vehicles, but no injuries were reported.

Following the incident, the WSP continue to urge all drivers to reduce speed when approaching emergency vehicles.
Authorities have not reported any pending charges or citations.
