News: UW marching band students awarded more than $1.4 million settlement stemming from 2018 bus accident

SEATTLE, WA – KOMO News reports that a group of former University of Washington marching band students were awarded more than $1.4 million after sustaining injuries in a bus crash en route to the 2018 Apple Cup in Pullman, Washington.

The bus driver failed to slow down for ice on the road, which led to the bus rolling onto its side. 

The bus did not have seat belts installed and the students suffered a variety of serious injuries ranging from broken bones to a spinal cord injury.
