News Update: WSP IDs motorcyclist killed in I-5 crash near Kent 

NEAR KENT, WA – According to an update from King5, the Washington State Patrol has identified the motorcyclist who was killed in an I-5 crash near Kent on Friday. 

Troopers said the victim was 50-year-old Aaron P. Wardrip, from Federal Way. Preliminary details suggest that Wardrip crashed into another vehicle, causing him to be ejected from his bike and succumb to his injuries at the scene. 

The other driver was not found at fault. 

After 2:00 a.m., troopers and transportation crews shut down the interstate’s northbound lanes and later reopened one HOV lane to resume the flow of traffic. Officials also redirected traffic toward State Route 516. Delays could be seen on Route 18 south of Federal Way.

Closures lasted for 5 and a half hours, and the area has reopened since.
