SEQUIM, WA – Officials with the Washington State Patrol have identified the two people who died in the previously reported collision on US 101 in Sequim on Saturday evening.
According to the Sequim Gazette, the two motorists who were pronounced dead at the scene are 40-year-old April L. Schondelmeyer and her 12-year-old daughter, Lyllian R. Moore, of Port Ludlow. Schondelmeyer was not wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred.
The head-on collision happened around 1:30 p.m. Saturday just west of the US 101 and Happy Valley Road intersection. Schondelmeyer was driving east on US 101 when her vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a Dodge Ram.
Two motorists in the Dodge Ram, 62-year old Thomas A. Cain of Poulsbo and 61-year-old Sandra R. Metro of Sequim, were injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. As of Sunday, Metro was in critical condition and Cain was expected to recover.
