News: UPDATE: Teen suspect comes forward after July’s Maple Valley hit-and-run

MAPLE VALLEY, WA — A 15-year-old girl was expected to appear in court Friday afternoon after being connected to July’s fatal hit-and-run in Maple Valley, according to KOMO News.

The teenager turned herself in days after authorities recovered the gray Toyota Camry that fatally struck a 53-year-old man on the 23800 block of Southeast 216th Street on July 18th at around 5:00 a.m.

The man had been jogging in the area before he was found deceased from an apparent hit-and-run collision.

Detectives were able to identify the teen suspect after establishing a description of the suspect vehicle and locating it on Tuesday.

The girl was scheduled to face a judge in a preliminary hearing at the King County Child and Family Justice Center. As a juvenile, her identity was not released.
