News UPDATE: Man arrested after fatal hit-and-run crash on SR-99 in Everett

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A 50-year-old man was taken into custody Thursday, days after a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian along State Route 99 in Everett, reports KIRO 7 Seattle.

The fatal incident occurred off northbound SR-99 just north of Manor Way, near Kirkland RV. It was first reported on Saturday, December 3, just after 8:30 a.m.

Washington State Patrol troopers said the victim, a 40-year-old man employed by the business, was shoveling snow outside the storefront when he was hit by a vehicle. Moments later, its driver fled the scene on foot.

Detectives were later able to positively identify the fleeing driver, who has since been booked into the Snohomish County as he is being investigated. Authorities said he faces charges of felony hit-and-run vehicular homicide and first-degree murder.
