SEATTLE, WA – According to an update from CapitolHill Seattle, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 27-year-old female pedestrian who was killed in a crash in Capitol Hill on Monday.
Officials identified the pedestrian as Lilliana Moreno, a Seattle local. Preliminary details suggest a man, driving a Toyota Prius, struck Moreno as he was turning right onto East Pine Street from Bellevue Avenue East.
Moreno became pinned underneath the Prius. Fire crews extricated her and said she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Seattle Police said they conducted a sobriety test on the male driver, who exhibited no signs of impairment. As such, they did not arrest the man.
Police said that after the collision, the driver and a companion of Moreno got into an altercation. However, they did not provide more details regarding that incident or say whether the driver acted with malicious intent while operating his vehicle.
