MARYSVILLE, WA – One person died, and another individual was transported to a crash involving a school bus on the outskirts of Marysville on Tuesday.
New information from Kiro7 reveals the incident happened when a male driver stopped his car in an HOV lane on Interstate 5 North and was then rear-ended by a school bus.
First responders transported the 29-year-old male driver and the school bus driver, a 59-year-old woman, both from Everett, to a hospital. There, the 29-year-old man died.
No children were on board the school bus at the time of the crash.
Washington State Patrol and Washington Department of Transportation shut down three left lanes, including the HOV lane, for the scene clean-up process and later reopened all lanes.
