News: Two killed in head-on collision on Highway 20

LA CONNER, WA. – Two people are dead after a fatal head-on collision on a bridge on Highway 20.

According to KIRO News 7, the crash occurred at around 12:30 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of the Swinomish Channel Bridge last Wednesday. A vehicle was reportedly crossed the center line and was traveling west in the eastbound lanes when it collided with another vehicle head-on. Both drivers, a 76-year old man, and a 62-year-old woman, were killed in the crash. The force of the collision left one of the vehicles dangling over the bridge.

The eastbound lanes were blocked and traffic was backed up on the bridge while crews worked to clear the scene.
