News: Two injured in multi-car wreck on I-405 NB near north Kirkland

KING COUNTY, WA — At least two people were hurt Wednesday afternoon in a crash involving five vehicles on Interstate 405 near north Kirkland, according to KIRO 7 News.

The accident occurred on the northbound lanes just south of Northeast 160th Street. It was first reported by the Washington State Patrol shortly after 5:00 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the collision, but authorities said one person suffered a possible broken ankle. Another patient sustained injuries that required them to be pulled from a car.

No other injuries have been indicated as of this writing.

Four left lanes, including the HOV lanes, were shut down during the emergency response, causing a long traffic backup.

Authorities have not released further details, but an investigation into the cause of the crash was underway.
