News: Two injured after suspected DUI crash on SR-3 in Belfair

MASON COUNTY, WA — A 22-year-old man suspected of DUI was arrested early Monday after fleeing a two-vehicle collision near Belfair, according to iFiberone.

Washington State Patrol said the crash happened on a span of State Route 3 near Northeast Squire Lane just south of Belfair.

The young man was driving north on the highway when his vehicle veered past the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle in the southbound lanes.

The driver of the other vehicle a 50-year-old Seabeck man, was injured in the collision. Details on his condition have not been released.

The causing driver, who was also hurt in the crash, fled the scene but was shortly located by authorities. He was suspected of impairment and now faces charges of DUI and vehicular assault.
