News: Two hospitalized after two-vehicle wreck on US-101 near Port Townsend

JEFFERSON COUNTY, WA — Two people were seriously injured Monday evening in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 101 near Port Townsend, according to The Leader.

The crash happened on the northbound lanes near West Uncas Road, south of Discovery Bay.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a 42-year-old woman was driving a 1995 Subaru Legacy north without headlights on when came to a stop at West Uncas Road, Shortly after, the Subarus was rear-ended by a northbound 2013 BMW.

The driver of the Subaru was transported by airlift to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center while her 38-year-old male passenger was taken to Jefferson Medical Center.

No other injuries were reported, but the Subaru was totaled in the event. The BMW received considerable damage and required towage from the scene.

WSP said the driver of the Subaru was issued a citation for not using headlights in the dark.
