News: Two hospitalized after being hit by stolen vehicle near downtown Seattle

SEATTLE, WA — At least four people were injured Wednesday morning when they were hit by the driver of a stolen pickup truck near downtown Seattle, according to Seattle Police Department.

Officers first responded to the scene of the first crash at the corner of 6th Avenue and Pine Street shortly before 6:00 a.m.

Officers investigating a carjacking at knifepoint at 29/Madison. Suspect hit and seriously injured one person during his escape. Officers have found and are pursuing the suspect now near 59/Roosevelt. Will update here when we have more information.

An investigation indicates shortly after a male suspect stole a pickup truck at knifepoint, he struck a man riding a scooter.

The suspect then proceeded to strike two bicyclists, a parked vehicle, as well as the owner of the parked vehicle, in the 400 block of Yesler Way.

Authorities confirmed two victims were transported to local hospitals. The man on the scooter suffered a possible broken ankle, and one of the bicyclists suffered two broken legs. The other bicyclist sustained minor injuries and declined transport to a hospital.

Although the owner of the parked vehicle was pushed by his own car during the collision, he was not reported seriously injured.

Washington State Patrol said the suspect driver was later apprehended by officers in the University District.
