News: Two-car crash, fire reported on 1st Ave S Bridge near west Seattle

SEATTLE, WA — Fire broke out after a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon on the 1st Avenue South Bridge near west Seattle, according to West Seattle Blog.

The accident was reported on the northbound lanes of the north end of the bridge, toward the Georgetown neighborhood, shortly after 2:00 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the wreck, but the impact of the crash caused one vehicle to catch fire.

By 2:07 p.m., Seattle Fire Department crews had responded to the scene and were able to extinguish the flames.

The incident left only one traffic lane open past the scene, but by 2:52 p.m., two northbound lanes were reported open.

At 3:15 p.m., the scene had been cleared from the roadway with all lanes reopened to traffic.

Seattle Fire officials said no injuries were reported.
