News: TPD investigates crash, closes intersection in Tacoma’s South End

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A vehicle accident was reported Wednesday evening near a shopping center in Tacoma’s South End area, according to Tacoma Police Department.

The collision occurred at the corner of East 72nd Street and Pacific Avenue. It was first reported by TPD at 7:50 p.m.

No details have been disclosed regarding the circumstances behind the crash, but officers shut down the intersection as an investigation was conducted.

Motorists were asked to take alternate routes around the scene as the closure was expected to stay in place for the next few hours.
