News: Tow truck involved in multi-vehicle wreck on I-5 near downtown Seattle

SEATTLE, WA — Multiple vehicles, including a tow truck, were involved in a crash during the Thursday morning commute, causing long delays on Interstate 5 near downtown Seattle, reports KOMO News.

The accident occurred on the northbound side of I-5, just south of the Seneca Street exit, at about 4:50 a.m.

Authorities have not publicly described the circumstances of the crash, but all involved parties were able to self-extricate from their own vehicles, and no one was seriously hurt.

The southbound express lanes and one northbound lane remained blocked for an extended time before, causing a traffic backup nearly 4 miles long.

By 7:30 a.m., the Washington State Department of Transportation announced the northbound lane had cleared, and shortly before 8:30 a.m., all southbound lanes were reopened to traffic.
