News: Toddler dies after being hit by car while running in Tacoma parking lot

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A 2-year-old boy was fatally injured Thursday afternoon when he was struck by a vehicle in Tacoma’s Eastside neighborhood, according to KIRO 7 News.

The crash occurred in the 2000 block of East 56th Street at around 4:00 p.m.

According to police, a boy was running between two moving vehicles in a parking lot when he was hit by one of the them.

The toddler was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Tacoma Police Department confirmed he was later pronounced deceased.

Few details have been released at this time, but authorities said they do not suspect impairment contributed to the fatal incident. No arrests in connection to the event have been reported.
