News: Teen dies after driver plunges into Lake Washington

SEATTLE, WA – The teen girl who was pulled from Lake Washington on Nov. 16 after a driver plunged into it has died from her injuries, according to KIRO 7.

A 20-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl were in a car when the vehicle rolled over and crashed into the water near Atlantic City Boat Ramp.

The 20-year-old woman was able to escape the car through a window. The girl followed her out but could not swim to shore.

Officers arrived at the scene and found the 20-year-old woman onshore. She told them her sister was still in the water.

Divers pulled the girl out of the water. She was unresponsive.

First responders transported the girl to an area hospital, where she died.

Authorities believed the woman displayed signs of impairment and arrested her for vehicular assault.
