News: Teen dies after crash with semi on West Valley Hwy in Auburn

KING COUNTY, WA — A 19-year-old driver died Thursday afternoon after a crash involving a semi-truck on northwest Auburn, according to KOMO News.

The fatal accident occurred on a span of West Valley Highway between 15th Street Northwest and 37th Street Northwest, just before 4:30 p.m.

According to Auburn Police, two vehicles were traveling northbound on the highway when one of the drivers tried to pass the other vehicle. As the vehicle passed, a semi pulled out of a driveway on the road’s east side and began turning southbound, resulting in a crash.

Officials confirmed the teen died from his injuries at the scene.

A section of West Valley Highway was blocked for over an hour during the emergency response.

At this time, an investigation remains underway.
