News: Stolen car crashes into Auburn donut shop, driver flees scene

KING COUNTY, WA — Property damage was reported late Tuesday after a driver crashed a stolen car into the front of an Auburn donut shop and fled the scene, reports FOX 13 Seattle.

The incident occurred at Donut Star, located off Auburn Way South, a few blocks west of Les Gove Park. It was reported at about 11:00 p.m.

Surveillance footage obtained by the Auburn Police Department shows a car slamming into concrete barriers placed before the storefront. Though the vehicle did not go into the building, the business’ lobby area was damaged by the force of the wreck. The video also shows the driver exiting the wrecked vehicle after it came to rest in the middle of the roadway.

Though no injuries were reported, the driver had fled the scene on foot before authorities arrived.

No further details on the wreck have been released, but the owner of the business indicated the building has been the site of two crashes in four years.

At this time, Auburn Police continues to investigate and search for the hit-and-run driver.
