SEATTLE, WA – Speeding and weather conditions were said to have played a role in a single-car crash that killed a 52-year-old woman on Wednesday.
The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Elliott Avenue W and West Galer Street in the Interbay neighborhood, according toKing5. Police said the 52-year-old woman was driving at a high rate of speed, which led her to lose control of her car and crash into a power pole.
Police said the woman died from her injuries at the scene. Seattle Police initially closed both directions of traffic before reopening at least one lane.
Seattle City Light was summoned to the scene to aid with the necessary repairs.
Police have not released the victim’s name at this time.
A full investigation is underway.
