News: SPD responds to hit-and-run on Western Ave near Pike Place Market

SEATTLE, WA — A hit-and-run collision was reported Monday evening near downtown Seattle’s Pike Place Market, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The incident took place in the 1500 block of Western Avenue. Officers with the department’s West Precinct responded to the scene shortly after receiving a call at about 6:28 p.m.

Very few details have been released, but dispatchers described the event as a motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) involving a truck. At least one of the involved parties fled the scene before authorities arrived.

At this time, the SPD has not provided a description of the fleeing vehicle and/or hit-and-run suspect.
