SNOHOMISH, WA – Three people were injured Saturday afternoon in a head-on collision on State Route 522. According to KOMO News, a DUI suspect collided with another vehicle near the Snonhomish River Bridge.
The suspected DUI driver, a 54-year-old woman, was traveling westbound on SR 522 when she crossed the center lane and collided with a vehicle heading eastbound.
There were multiple reports of the DUI suspect’s reckless driving prior to the crash. Police had been trying to locate her right before the accident happened.
The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center with several injuries. Police plan to charge her with DUI and vehicular assault.
Two people in the other vehicle also sustained injuries. A 27-year-old male was transported to Evergreen Hospital in Monroe for a broken leg. A 24-year-old female was found unconscious at the scene. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center for critical injuries. Her current condition has not been made public, though she is expected to recover.
Local authorities shut down SR 522 for several hours to investigate the crash.
