News: Semi-truck wreck closes multiple lanes on I-5 SB in Tukwila

KING COUNTY, WA — A semi-truck accident Thursday night shut down most of Interstate 5 southbound near Southcenter in Tukwila, according to KIRO 7 News.

Multiple area fire crews and a hazmat team responded to the scene near State Route 518 shortly after 9:30 p.m.

It was unclear what led up to the crash, but authorities said the semi had overturned on the roadway and was severely damaged.

No injuries were reported in the event, and no other vehicles appear to have been involved.

Crews worked for hours to pump fuel out of the truck’s fuel tank and load the wreckage onto a flatbed tow truck.

No additional information has been disclosed at this time.
