MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, WA – According to KOMO, a semi-truck driver struck and injured a pedestrian near I-5 NB and 220th St SW Friday.
A 22-year-old man walked in front of the semi-truck around 1:30 a.m. The semi-truck driver swerved to avoid colliding with the man, but the man was hit by the trailer.
Following the collision, the truck driver exited their vehicle to render aid to the victim
Rescue crews transported the victim to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities believe impairment was a factor in the crash.
The Washington State Patrol is investigating the incident.
