News: Semi crash causes major delays on Southbound I-5

SEATTLE, WA – A truck driver lost control of his vehicle on Southbound I-5 at Mercer Street and skidded off the roadway, causing a major traffic jam Wednesday morning.

Seattle Fire Department tweeted about the accident around 10:42 a.m., letting drivers know to expect delays.

According to Kiro 7, the semi was the only vehicle involved in the crash, and the driver sustained only minor injuries.

The crash left the truck hanging off a barrier above the Mercer Street on-ramps and leaking fuel, which Seattle Department of Transportation cleaned from the roadway.
