News: Portland Avenue blocked after pedestrian was hit

TACOMA, WA – A 51-year-old pedestrian was hit and seriously injured in a motor vehicle collision in the 4400 block of East Portland Avenue on Sunday afternoon.

According to KIRO 7 News, local authorities shut down East Portland Avenue between East 46th Street and East 44th Street to investigate the accident.

Emergency responders transported the critically injured pedestrian to a local hospital for treatment.

While it is unclear what caused the crash, the 24-year-old driver was booked in a local jail for vehicular assault.
