News: Police pursuit in Grant County ends in fatal crash, multiple arrests

EPHRATA, WA – According to KOMO News, a police pursuit in Grant County on Tuesday morning ended in a fatal single-vehicle crash.

Officials with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office said the chase began around 2:30 a.m., when an Ephrata police officer responded to reports of a suspicious person in the Swanson Addition neighborhood.

After arriving at the location, the officer watched the individual enter a vehicle and attempt to speed away.

Police pursued the suspect’s vehicle south on Dodson Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed off the roadway.

One woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A man in the vehicle fled the scene on foot. Police picked up two men in the area for questioning.
