News: Police investigate deadly hit-and-run on Washington 99 off-ramp

SEATTLE, WA – The Seattle Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred on the off-ramp from Washington 99 to South Spokane Street on Saturday, according to KOMO.

Dispatchers received calls concerning an object on the off-ramp around 4 a.m. The Seattle Response Team investigated and found an unresponsive 66-year-old man. They then called paramedics.

Emergency crews arrived and found that the victim had suffered a head injury before pronouncing him dead at the scene.

Investigators determined that a hit-and-run driver struck the victim.

Authorities found a vehicle with front-end damage consistent with an auto vs. pedestrian collision and arrested a 53-year-old man.

Officials have not released the victim’s name.
