News: Pedestrian seriously hurt after crash on I-5 near downtown Tacoma

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A pedestrian was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after a crash involving two vehicles on Interstate 5 near downtown Tacoma.

According to Trooper Robert Reyer with Washington State Patrol, the incident took place on the southbound lanes of the interstate near Portland Avenue at approximately 1:38 p.m.

It is unclear what led up to the accident, but WSP indicates the pedestrian was struck by two different vehicles.

The victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. No updates about their condition are available at this time.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. No further information has been released at this time.
