PIERCE COUNTY, WA – A 39-year-old woman died late Friday night when she was struck by a car in the westbound lane of State Route 512 just west of Steele St, according to the State Patrol.
KOMO News reported that the woman was walking eastbound in the westbound lane of the highway around midnight Friday when the car hit her and fled.
Westbound SR-512 @ Steele St. Troopers are out with a deceased female pedestrian. Female was struck by at least 2 vehicles. None of which remained on scene. Roadway will be blocked for a while. Please use Steele St to get around. Have info? Please call 911 asap.

State Trooper Ryan Burke reported via Twitter that the woman was struck by a Subaru and then by a silver Mercedes, both of which fled the scene. By Saturday, Troopers identified the Subaru connected with the accident, but are still searching for the Mercedes.
