News: Pedestrian injured in hit-and-run crash near Renton intersection

KING COUNTY, WA — A 27-year-old man was hospitalized late Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle in central Renton, reports FOX 13 Seattle.

Renton Police said the incident occurred in the area of South Third Place and Rainier Avenue South. Officers responded to the scene after receiving calls shortly before 12:00 p.m.

The circumstances of the event were not immediately clear, but officials said the driver, believed to have driving a small green pickup truck, fled the scene without stopping.

First responders arrived to find the male pedestrian suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. After receiving preliminary treatment at the scene, the patient was transported to an area hospital.

The RPD has not released any further information at this time.
