News: Pedestrian hospitalized after road rage hit-and-run on I-405 in Bellevue

KING COUNTY, WA — One person was seriously hurt Friday afternoon when they were hit by a car during a road rage incident on an Interstate 405 offramp in Bellevue, according to KIRO 7 News.

Washington State Patrol responded to the scene on the I-405 southbound offramp to 112th Avenue Southeast shortly after 4:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation shows the events unfolded when the drivers of a white work truck and a red Lexus IS got involved in a road rage incident. Both vehicles had pulled over at the start of the ramp, and the driver of the truck exited their vehicle and took out a four-foot level from the bed of the truck. The driver walked toward the Lexus and struck the hood of the car. As the Lexus attempted to flee, it hit the truck driver and continued southbound.

Troopers and Bellevue Fire medics arrived to find the pedestrian unconscious. They suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Harborview Medical Center.

Authorities said they have since located and questioned the causing driver. An investigation is ongoing.
