News: Pedestrian hit, seriously hurt by driver on SR-99 in SeaTac

KING COUNTY, WA — One person was hospitalized Monday night after being struck by a a vehicle on State Route 99 near DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in SeaTac, reports Key News Network.

Puget Sound Fire crews, SeaTac Police, Burien Police, and officials with the sheriff’s department responded to the scene in the 18600 block of the highway (International Boulevard). Dispatchers first received the call at about 11:00 p.m.

The circumstances behind the incident remain unclear at this time, but first responders arrived to find the pedestrian suffering from serious injuries. The patient was rushed to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center.

Photos taken at the scene show major damage to the windshield of the striking car. No marked crosswalk was observed in the area.

The driver stayed after the crash and cooperated with officials.

An investigation remains underway.
