News: Pedestrian hit, killed by vehicle on 4th Ave S in Industrial District

SEATTLE, WA — Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred Wednesday morning in Seattle’s Industrial District, according to KOMO News.

The Seattle Police Department said the incident occurred on a stretch of 4th Avenue South shortly before 5:00 a.m.

An early investigation found that a male pedestrian was in the roadway, outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a northbound driver.

Shortly after Seattle Fire Department medics arrived to find the victim unresponsive and in the roadway, he was pronounced deceased.

Authorities said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. He was determined to be not impaired after an on-site assessment by a drug recognition expert.

The SPD continues to investigate. As more information becomes available, this blog will be updated.
