News: Pedestrian fatally struck by several vehicles in Tacoma 

TACOMA, WA – A pedestrian lost their life after getting struck by several vehicles on I-705 South near South 11th Street on Thursday night. 

According to a KOMO News report, several eyewitnesses claimed the pedestrian was walking on the interstate shoulder before somehow ending up on the interstate’s main lanes and getting hit by several vehicles. 

The collision happened before 9:30 p.m. and warranted some southbound lane closures. During the closures, Washington State Patrol told drivers on I-705 South to take the ramp connecting to 21st Street and Pacific Avenue as crews worked to clear the scene. The ramps connecting to South 9th Street/A /A Street and Schuster Parkway were also shut down. 

Washington State Patrol is actively working to determine how the crash unfolded and has not announced pending charges for the drivers involved nor released the pedestrian’s identity.
