News: Pedestrian fatally hit by semi on SR-900 near Tukwila

KING COUNTY, WA — One person died early Tuesday after being struck by a semi-truck on State Route 900 near northeast Tukwila, according to KOMO News.

The fatal incident occurred on the westbound lanes just west of South 129th Street at about 12:30 a.m.

It was unclear what led up to the crash, but police said a 41-year-old Puyallup man was driving a semi westbound when he hit the pedestrian, who was walking on the highway.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

All westbound lanes were shut down for about three hours during the emergency response.

No information on the victim has been released at this time.
