News: Pedestrian fatally hit by driver on NE 12th St in NE Renton

KING COUNTY, WA — One person died Monday night after being struck by a vehicle near the Highlands Park area in northeast Renton, according to KIRO 7 News.

The fatal incident occurred at the intersection of Northeast 12th Street and Sunset Boulevard Northeast at around 7:30 p.m.

No details have been released on the events leading up to the crash, but early reports of the event suggest the driver fled the scene.

Authorities also initially reported injuries but later said the victim was pronounced deceased.

An investigation was underway.
