PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person died late Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 5 in downtown Tacoma, according to KOMO News.
Washington State Patrol said the fatal incident took place on the northbound interstate near Portland Avenue at around 10:00 p.m.
Few details have been released at this time, but authorities indicated the victim died from their injuries at the scene.
Multiple other agencies, including the Tacoma Fire Department and Washington Department of Transportation, responded to the scene.
Three left lanes were shut down during the emergency response and investigation.
