News: Pedestrian, driver hospitalized after rollover wreck in Monroe

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A pedestrian and a driver were injured Saturday evening in a rollover collision near downtown Monroe, according to KIRO 7 News.

Monroe Police responded to the scene in the 300 block of South Lewis Street shortly before 7:00 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the incident, but officers arrived to find a female pedestrian lying on the sidewalk and suffering from serious injuries.

The driver was found trapped in an SUV, which had overturned in the crash.

Both patients received treatment at the scene and were transported to area hospitals with undisclosed injuries.

The driver’s dog was initially reported missing after the wreck, but was later confirmed to have been found deceased.

Officials also noted a sign for the nearby Monroe United Methodist Church was destroyed in the incident.

As of this writing, no arrests have been reported in the event, but an investigation remains ongoing.
