News: Pedestrian dies after being hit by pickup truck on SR-7 in Tacoma

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person died early Saturday after being struck by a vehicle while jaywalking across State Route 7 in south Tacoma, reports KIRO 7 Seattle.

The fatal incident occurred on the northbound highway, just past 100th Street South, at about 12:30 a.m.

Troopers with the Washington State Patrol said a driver was heading northbound in a Ford F-150 pickup truck when they hit the pedestrian.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where they later died from their injuries.

All northbound lanes were shut down in the area as the WSP conducted an investigation.
