News: Passenger dies when driver fleeing police crashes in Spanaway

TACOMA, WA – A passenger died when a driver collided with another vehicle while eluding police on WA 7 near 180th St S on Saturday, according to KING 5.

Troopers saw a the driver of a Lexus sedan speeding and tried to perform a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop and sped away before crashing into a Ford pickup truck around 4 p.m.

First responders pronounced a passenger in the suspect’s car dead at the scene.

Authorities transported the suspect to an area hospital for a blood draw.

The driver was arrested for second-degree murder.
