News: Overturned semi blocks two lanes on I-5 SB in Federal Way

KING COUNTY, WA — Multiple agencies were called to rollover crash involved a semi-truck Thursday morning on Interstate 5 in Federal Way, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The accident occurred on the southbound lanes at Exit 143 to South 320th Street, near Gateway Center. It was first recorded by WSDOT at 6:10 a.m.

Officials have not disclosed the cause of the wreck, but two right lanes were closed in the immediate aftermath. Fire Assistance crews, the Washington State Patrol, and WSDOT’s Incident Response Team all responded to the scene.

The closure remained in place for about four hours as crews worked to get the semi upright and prepared for towage.

By 10:11 a.m., the scene had been cleared from the roadway and all lanes were restored to normal traffic.
