News: One killed, one seriously hurt in head-on collision near central Renton

KING COUNTY, WA — One man died late Monday night after a two-vehicle crash that seriously injured another in central Renton, according to KOMO News.

Renton police responded to the scene in the 1200 block of Benson Road South shortly before 10:13 p.m.

Few details have been reported on the events leading up to the fatal crash, but authorities believe the vehicles collided head-on at high speed.

One man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. It was unclear whether he was a driver or a passenger.

Another man suffered serious injuries and was transported to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center.

Benson Road South was shut down in both directions between South Puget Drive and Main Avenue South as investigators worked the scene. It was expected to reopen several hours later.
