News: One killed in two-car wreck on SR-181 near Tukwila

KING COUNTY, WA — One person died Thursday morning after a head-on collision on State Route 181 near the Orillia area in southeast Tukwila, according to KIRO 7 Seattle.

Crews with Tukwila Fire, Puget Sound Fire, and King County Medic One all responded to the scene on West Valley Highway South (SR-181), south of 180th Street, shortly before 6:00 a.m.

The circumstances behind the fatal crash were not immediately clear, but Tukwila Fire officials confirmed one person died from their injuries at the scene.

At this time, authorities have not disclosed whether anyone else was injured.

Multiple lanes of the highway were blocked off during the emergency response and investigation. Commuters were urged to find alternate routes.
