News: One in custody for DUI crash on I-5 South in Tacoma

TACOMA, WA – One person is in custody for driving under the influence following a crash on the exit ramp from Interstate 5 to Thorne Lane.

According to the official Twitter page of the WSP, the collision occurred around 4:11 p.m. when a car failed to turn at the top of the ramp and was sent off the highway into a construction zone.

South I-5, exit to Thorne Lane (Lakewood) is fully blocked. A vehicle missed the left turn at the top of the ramp. Troopers are with the driver. Appears non injury. Expect a delay on this ramp for removal. pic.twitter.com/vp8MR4OA2m

Troopers said the driver stayed at the scene and did not appear injured.

Following the crash, one person was arrested for driving under the influence.
