News: One fatally injured in motorcycle crash on Schuster Pkwy near north Tacoma

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person died Thursday evening after a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on Schuster Parkway in Tacoma’s North End, according to Tacoma Police Department.

The accident occurred in the 600 block of the southbound parkway near Tacoma Chinese Reconciliation Park. It was first reported by TPD shortly before 5:30 p.m.

Authorities initially reported serious injuries in the crash, but by 5:54 p.m., at least one person was pronounced deceased.

No details were released regarding the circumstances behind the event, but the parkway was shut down at North 30th Street and North Starr Street for an investigation.

Northbound motorists were told to expect long delays heading into Old Town. Alternate routes were advised.

By 9:25 p.m., about three hours and a half later, the parkway was fully reopened.
