News: One dead after single-vehicle crash near Tacoma’s South End

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — At least one person died Monday night after a vehicle collided with a pole near the South End neighborhood in Tacoma, according to Tacoma Police Department.

The accident happened on South 72nd Street between Cushman Avenue and Sheridan Avenue. It was first reported by Tacoma Police shortly before 9:00 p.m.

Details are limited at this time, but authorities confirmed one person was killed as a result of a car hitting a pole.

No other injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation by TPD’s Collision Investigation Team.

Motorists were instructed to find alternate routes as crews worked the scene.
