News: Multiple crews respond to rollover wreck on I-5 NB near Southcenter

KING COUNTY, WA — A rollover crash involving multiple vehicles was reported Friday afternoon on Interstate 5 near the Westfield Southcenter shopping mall in Tukwila, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The accident happened on the northbound lanes just south of Southcenter Boulevard and was first reported by the WSDOT shortly before 1:17 p.m.

Details are limited at this time, but officials said at least three vehicles were involved. Photos taken at the scene show one passenger car flipped onto its roof.

The HOV lane and two left general purpose lanes were blocked in the aftermath, leaving only two right lanes open to traffic.

By 1:24 p.m., multiple crews with Puget Sound Fire had responded to the site.

Motorists were told to expect long delays in the area.
