News: Motorcyclist struck, injured by alleged impaired driver in Greenwood

SEATTLE, WA – According to KIRO 7, a suspected impaired driver hit and injured a motorcyclist near North 85th Street and Linden Avenue North on Saturday. 

The driver of a red Ford SUV was heading west on North 85th Street when they attempted to make a U-turn onto eastbound North 85th Street. A 33-year-old man riding a motorcycle tried to change lanes to pass the SUV and was hit by the SUV around noon. 

First responders transported the motorcyclist to an area hospital with critical injuries. 

Authorities determined that the SUV driver was impaired and arrested him for vehicular assault. The driver had an active warrant for assault and was driving with a suspended license and no insurance. 

The Seattle Police Department’s Traffic Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the incident.
